Course Overview:

Achieving anterior implant esthetics is a challenging and demanding procedure. Creating implant restorations with harmonious gingival contours that emulate nature is a fusion of science and art. Understanding the biologic and physiologic limitations of soft and hard tissue will facilitate predictability in complex esthetic situations.  This presentation encompasses Orthodontics, Periodontics and Restorative Dentistry, and will focus on current implant treatment philosophies and methodologies for replacing currently missing teeth and the management of patients who will be losing a tooth or teeth in the esthetic zone. Emphasis will be placed on diagnosis and treatment planning, interdisciplinary treatment planning, and soft and hard tissue reconstruction as well as complication management.

Learning Objectives:

The following topics will be discussed:

  • -Prognostic keys for predictable esthetic implant treatment

  • -Immediate vs. Delayed vs. Early tooth replacements concepts

  • -Bone and connective graft concepts and limitations

  • -Papilla management

  • -Management of surgical and prosthetic complications

  • -Management of interdisciplinary cases (Ortho, Perio & Prosthodontics)

  • -Long- term case follow-up

  • -Provisionalization and final restorations contours

  • -Root shield: What we know and what we do not know
